Gaudenzio has more than 20 years’ experience in private equity investment, restructuring, investment banking and corporate finance.
He is Partner at Pillarstone Italy a KKR platform investing in distressed corporates and assets backed financing, providing capital and turnaround expertise. Focusing on management of distressed assets portfolio across Europe through JV with banks.
Previously he was Head of the Global Restructuring Group in Italy and Middle East at RBS, where he was responsible for a portfolio of assets under management in excess of Euro 4bn in different geographies managed by two teams one in Milan and one in Dubai. During this period he has lead a number of very complex restructuring across Europe and in the Middle East, in a wide range of sectors and geographies.
Before that, Gaudenzio was Head of the Leveraged Finance team in Milan at RBS, investing and financing a number of LBOs, and Deloitte Corporate Finance in London before.
MBA from Warwick University, ACA qualified in Italy, Degree in Business Administration and Economics from Ca’ Foscari University.
Michele was Managing Director at Terra Firma, in charge of the Operational Secondaries strategy of the firm.
He is Director of Opera SGR, a private equity firm based in Italy which specialises in the management of distressed private equity funds. As Chairman and CEO of Opera he led the successful takeover of the management of four PE funds, and then the monitoring and exiting of approximately 40 portfolio investments.
Prior to joining Opera, Michele was a Partner at Lazard European Private Equity Partners Limited, a new pan-European fund. He previously spent seven years at Doughty Hanson in London and Milan where he was Managing Director, Head of Southern Europe. Michele has also worked at IBM, Morgan Stanley, Olivetti SpA, Stet Società Finanziaria Telefonica and McKinsey & Co.
Michele holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Laurea in Electronic Engineering from the University of Napoli.
Francesco Colasanti - Managing Director, Fortress Investment Group Francesco Colasanti joined the Fortress team in Italy in 2001 and has played a part in the main investment processes of Fortress in the real estate sector, in the NPL (non-performing loans) sector and in the traditional private equity sector. Since 2005, Mr. Colasanti has contributed, on behalf of Fortress, to the creation and development of Torre SGR S.p.A., currently the eighth largest Italian real estate fund. He has also been a Member of the Board of Italfondiario S.p.A. since February 2012 and a Member of the Board of doBank since October 2015. Mr. Colasanti oversees investment strategy of Eurocastle Investment Limited, a company externally managed by Fortress and listed in the Amsterdam stock exchange and also serves as a Chief Investment Officer of the Fortress Italian NPL Opportunities Fund. Before joining Fortress, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers on the audit and transaction support team. Mr. Colasanti received a degree in Economics and Business from LUISS University of Rome.
Mr Di Meo joined - in 2014 - Sound Point Capital, a New York-based Alternative Investment Manager with US$ 13 billion in credit-focused assets under management. Mr Di Meo works on European investments in the public and private stressed/distressed credit space.
Prior to joining Sound Point Capital, between 2005 and 2014, Mr. Di Meo was a Director in the European Distressed Credit Trading business at Barclays and a stressed/distressed credit analyst at HBK Investments, a multi-billion Dallas-based hedge fund.
Mr Di Meo started his career in private equity in 2001, working for the financial sponsor team of JPMorgan, and then went onto joining Texas Pacific Group (TPG Capital) as an Associate in their European private equity team.
Mr. Di Meo graduated in 2001 in Economics from Bocconi University (Milan) cum laude.
Antonio is a senior credit analyst at Northlight Group, an independent asset manager focusing on European high yield. Northlight uses extensive bottom-up fundamental analysis to identify opportunities across the capital structure in order to generate attractive liquidity adjusted returns with emphasis on risk management and capital preservation. Prior to joining Northlight, Antonio was responsible for capital markets and financing at InvestIndustrial, raising in excess of €1.5bn across high yield and leveraged loans (2009-2013). Previously Antonio co-promoted and ran the European fundamental credit strategy at Magnetar Capital focusing on credit analysis and monitoring of investments (2007-2009). He has also worked with Lehman Brothers as a member of the leveraged finance and M&A teams (1998-2007). Antonio holds a degree in Economics from the University of Bologna. He is fluent in English and Italian.
José graduated from Tufts University in the USA with a double major in Economics and Biology. He began his professional career at Irving Trust Company (now Bank of NY), graduating from the Loan Officer Development Program to a position as a lending officer in the Energy and Mineral Department and thereafter a member of the newly formed Project Finance Department.
In 1986, José joined GE Capital in Stamford Ct. where he held multiple positions, including as the leader the GE Capital Structured Finance Group activities in Europe. In 2000, José joined TD Capital Communications Partners, opening their London Office and thereafter joined Royal Bank of Scotland as Deputy Head of Special Lending Services, RBS’s restructuring business.
In 2006, José joined NewSmith Financial Products LLP where he was a Partner. He joined UniCredit, in 2008 when UniCredit acquired Newsmith Financial Products. Jose has held multiple positions in UniCredit including Head of Group Special Credit, overseeing UniCredit Restructuring activities.
Today José is Head of Distressed Asset Management, a function established in 2013 to develop and execute strategy regarding sales from UniCredit’s distressed portfolio.
Luca joined Jupiter in 2013 as a Credit Analyst in the Fixed Income and Multi-Asset team covering the Financial Institutions sector.
Prior to joining Jupiter, Luca worked in the Investment Management Division of Goldman Sachs and also worked at Moody’s Investors Service as an Associate in the Banking team.
Luca holds a bachelor’s degree and a master in Business Management cum Laude from Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome.
Lei Lei serves as an investment analyst with primary focus on European investments. Mr. Lei previously worked at Merrill Lynch in its Leveraged Finance and Capital Markets Groups. He earned a B.S. from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Stefano Visalli is the Founder of Oxy Capital Italia management specialized in turnaround & distress. He is a director at McKinsey Milan offices.
He is in charge of strategy of the Med Complex and a member of the executive committee practice banking in Europe.
He is responsible for the banking practice in the Mediterranean region. He is responsible for numerous projects concerning changes in the operative structure and turnarounds.
Head of Debt Advisory Services atDeloitte Financial Advisory since 2016, Andrea graduated in Economics from the University of Turin and achieved an MBA from the Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Lyon. Before starting his career at Mediobanca in 1998, dealing with Corporate Finance and restructuring projects, he worked as teaching assistant at University of Turin and practiced as a chartered accountant. In 2002 joined HSBC in the M&A division, working between London and Milan, and in 2003 he was appointed Head of Corporate Finance at Capitalia. In 2008 he became Head of Large Corporate Restructuring Italy at Unicredit, where he started and directed a team which handled a large number of firms restructuring, often introducing structure and process innovations which eventually set a standard on the market. Andrea has also been the Founder and CEO of the start-up Pillarstone Italy, with AUM of 1 billion,specialized in NPL. He participated as an Advisor in the reorganization and sale of four banks in crisis in collaboration with the Bank of Italy.
Federico Sutti is Managing Partner of Dentons in Italy.
Federico has extensive experience in M&A transactions, particularly in the Real Estate sector, advising Italian and international clients in the acquisition of assets and portfolios, as well as relevant, complex developments. These include, in particular, some of the most prominent development transactions in the residential/office/retail as well as in the logistic sectors. In addition, he has carried out various brownfield transactions advising international investors operating in the hotel and/or office sectors.
Moreover, Federico advised the lenders in the context of the most relevant development projects in Italy among which Citylife and Varesine projects.
His experience extends to the PFI/PPP sectors, pioneering the use of project finance techniques in the Italian and international infrastructure markets, with specific reference to the healthcare sector. In particular, he assisted the Veneto Region for several years. Moreover he advised the Ministry of Infrastructures in Turkey in relation to the development of the PFI structure model for hospitals.
Over the last years he has assisted leading banks, Italian companies and multinationals in various restructuring and refinancing matters.
Alessia Pirolo is Head of NPL Coverage at Debtwire ABS. From a previous focus on Southern European Commercial Real Estate, she is now in charge to expand Debtwire's NPL coverage areas around the world. Before joining Debtwire, she covered U.S. and European commercial real estate for The Wall Street Journal, and the Commercial Observer. She holds a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
Antonio Vanuzzo is a senior reporter at Debtwire. He is focused on European banks and Italian restructuring. Before joining Debtwire he was senior financial reporter at Italian online daily Linkiesta in Milan. In 2016 he was awarded the Talented Young Italians Award for media and communication by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the UK. He holds a master’s degree from Universita’ Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan.
