The opening session on Markets Day covered the energy and renewable market where we were joined by industry experts fr an analysis of the macro situation, the investment opportunities that are available in the secondary market and the current structures for non-subsidised assets.
At the previous Real Estate Forum, we heard forecasts from expert economists the impact that the EU referendum would have on the real estate market. One year on, we tested some of the forecasts to understand whether the the market had responded as expected. We also looked at the impact for both the UK and Continental Europe and Brexit with a real estate investment theme over the coming years.
The European commercial real estate market got off to a slow start in 2017. Transaction volumes during the first quarter are thinner than a year earlier. However, there are enough interesting themes emerging this year.
