Blanca Perea has more than 15 years’ experience in the energy sector, and has worked on regulatory and competition issues — studying the impact of legislative reforms, new policies and energy efficiency programmes — as well as market research and the financing and valuation of energy assets, among others. She has recently participated as an expert witness in numerous lawsuits pertaining to the electricity reforms in Spain, obtaining the first favourable ruling from the Spanish Supreme Court.
Blanca Perea joins the firm after almost three years as a partner at Bluecap Management Consulting. Previously, she was a senior manager at PwC’s energy practice and managing director of COGEN España, the Spanish Association for the Promotion of Cogeneration.
Blanca Perea has a Ph.D. in Engineering, Nuclear Engineering and Physics from Catalonia’s Universidad Politécnica, and was a researcher at CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research) for eight years. She also holds an MBA from Georgetown-ESADE.
