Luc has over 20 years of experience as a financial journalist in Asia covering fixed income, credit derivatives and distressed debt markets. He joined Debtwire in 2006 as Managing Editor for the Asia-Pacific region and now is responsible for a team of 14 journalists and five analysts that cover primarily the stressed/distressed debt, high yield and primary debt markets. Luc first started covering distressed debt markets in 1989 as a reporter for IFR in Japan. In 1998 he initiated and developed coverage of the Asian distressed debt markets for IFR Asia.

Ashok Kumar has more than 25 years of experience in legal practice. His core practice area is in Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency and he leads the practice at BlackOak LLC, which is and independent boutique special situations legal firm in Singapore. Handling both the contentious and non-contentious aspects of this practice. Ashok acts for companies, creditors, financial institutions, banks and insolvency professionals, providing advice on solutions when companies are in a distress or near distress situation and has acted for parties in many high-profile deals such as Hyflux, Bakrieland Development, Duniatex, Agritrade, Miclyn Offshore, Jurong Aromatics Corporation, Trikomsel, Bumi Resources, Vanguard Energy, Berau Coal and Suntech Power. Ashok is a committee member of the Law Reform Committee of the Singapore Academy of Law (‘SAL’) and chairs the SAL Sub-Committee on Bond Restructuring and Litigation Funding in Insolvency Cases. He is also a Board member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Singapore and an Adjunct Lecturer in the Singapore Management University. He sits on various other committees and has released various publications related to his core practice area. Ashok has been noted as a leading lawyer in numerous publications including Chambers Global, Chambers Asia, IFLR1000, Asia Pacific Legal 500, Who’s Who Legal, PLC Which Lawyer Yearbook, Asia Law and Best Lawyers International, in this practice area.

Jason Kardachi is a Managing Director based in the Singapore office and leads the firm’s restructuring, insolvency and forensic work in Singapore and South East Asia.
Jason has led and managed complex debt restructurings and turnarounds, liquidations and receiverships and provided practical and commercial solutions to key stakeholders.
Jason is the founding member of the TMA Southeast Asia ("SEA") chapter and is the first President of the regional TMA chapter. He was recently awarded the TMA International Chapter Impact Award 2019, and is the first practitioner outside of the United States to have received an Individual award since the launch of the TMA Awards in 1993.
Before joining Borrelli Walsh, Jason was a Managing Partner of Teak Capital Partners, an advisory and investment firm focused on special situation and distressed investments across Asia Pacific.
Jason has 25 years of corporate advisory and restructuring experience in Asia Pacific, the last 19 of which have been in Hong Kong and Singapore, initially at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Business Recovery Services and then as Head of Special Situations Asia at HSBC.
Jason is a Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Adelaide.

James is a Partner in the Deals practice at PwC HK & Mainland China. James and his team provide advisory services to investors in Chinese NPL, distressed and special situation opportunities, including deal sourcing, due diligence, investment underwriting and post-deal master-servicing. James' team are currently responsible for overseeing the servicing of over US$ 100m of investor's capital deployed into the China NPL asset class and has first hand experience of the challenges of realising value in onshore distressed situations. In addition, his team identify and evaluate a number of single distressed credit and direct lending opportunities for international credit investors every year.
Prior to moving to Asia in 2014, James was part of PwC UK's equivalent distressed asset investment lead advisory business in Europe. James is a Chartered Accountant and sits on the China Committee of the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. He is interested in connecting with global institutional investors who are interested in discussing opportunities in the China and broader Asian markets.

Mr. Middleton is Co-Head of Houlihan Lokey’s Asian Financial Restructuring Group, based in Hong Kong.
Before joining Houlihan Lokey in early 2018, Mr. Middleton enjoyed a long and successful career as a partner of KPMG China, where for 10 years he led KPMG’s restructuring and insolvency business in China and the Asia-Pacific region. He managed a team of approximately 130 staff across China, all involved in restructuring activites. He has spent more than 20 years in the industry in Asia.
Mr. Middleton’s career highlights include serving as lead liquidator of Lehman Brothers’ operations in Asia; the ground-breaking financial restructuring via a UK scheme of arrangement of state-owned Vietnam Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (Vinashin); and the financial restructuring of China’s Evergrande Real Estate Group. More recently, he has acted as financial advisor to CIC in the restructuring of Bumi Resources in Indonesia.
A qualified professional accountant, Mr. Middleton graduated from the University of Manchester with a B.A. in Economics and Politics.
