Ignacio Buil Aldana Partner Cuatrecasas

Ignacio Buil is a partner at Cuatrecasas, Managing Partner of the London office and a member of the Finance Practice. He has been based at the London office since September 2013. He is qualified to practice in Madrid and New York.
He has extensive experience in financing and debt-restructuring transactions (in and out of court) and in negotiating financing and refinancing agreements involving a wide range of capital structures, including refinancing LBOs, as well as in project, real estate and corporate finance.
Mr. Buil represents borrowers and lenders and advises financial institutions, hedge funds and private equity funds on financing and refinancing transactions and distressed investment strategies (including loan-to-own and direct lending). He has also participated in several national and multijurisdictional financing transactions and acquisition of NPL portfolios.
He has also worked as an associate in the New York office of a leading US law firm, where he represented several debtors and creditors in chapter 11 reorganizations, including advising on 363 sales and debtor-in-possession financings.
Ignacio Buil is the coordinator of the India Group of Cuatrecasas.

Chiara Elisei Senior Editor Debtwire

Chiara Elisei is Co-Deputy Editor at Debtwire Europe and heads up the restructuring desk. She started at Debtwire in 2008, focusing on restructuring and expanding Debtwire’s Southern Europe coverage. Prior to joining Debtwire, she worked as a reporter at Italian newspapers Corriere della Sera and Il Messaggero, and national broadcasting company RAI, covering current news and international affairs. Chiara graduated in Classics at Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa, where she also got a PhD in June 2010.
