Stephen Phillips is Restructuring and Banking lawyer based in London.
Stephen spent five years in Asia advising on project finance and corporate distressed mandates during the Currency Crisis. Having moved back to London in the early 2000s he advised bondholders during the High Yield telecoms and energy market turbulence often using UK schemes of arrangement to effect a restructuring. During the Global Financial Crisis he assisted funds, banks and corporates mainly in respect of their exposure to stressed leveraged finance structures. He also advised on bank restructurings and structured finance vehicles such as SIVs and CMBS. In the past few years, his focus has been energy related matters, and retail related stress. Stephen have also had a great deal of experience advising technology-related companies in pre-packed administration sales.
Stephen works with funds to execute investment strategies, with directors of distressed companies, and with corporates and insolvency practitioners to implement turnaround strategies.
Marvin is a member of the firms global transactions group and practises in the area of restructuring and insolvency.
Marvin advises corporates and lenders in the context of out-of court and in-court financial restructurings and refinancings.Marvin has a special focus on cross-border and multinational situations with complex capital structures including various types of financial instruments.
During his time at Freshfields, Marvin has been seconded to the Frankfurt and Chicago offices of a major investment bank and the London office of Freshfields.
Dawn is a former practising restructuring and insolvency lawyer. Prior to joining Debtwire as a Legal Analyst, Dawn practised with DLA Piper UK LLP and Stevens & Bolton LLP, as well as working in legal know-how for LexisNexis. Dawn’s experience includes advising lenders, insolvency practitioners, directors and creditors in relation to insolvency and restructuring issues. Dawn worked on several large-scale restructurings.
