Revealing new research about corporate non-performing loan opportunities was launched at Debtwire's Italian Restructuring Forum 2016. The research evaluated the level of corporate NPLs, size of companies, geographies and sectors in Italy. It provides international investors with analysis on the types of companies currently under financial stress in Italy and is available for download below (in Italian).

In an interview recorded on the sidelines of the conference, Maurizio Ria, Managing Director at Duke & Kay explained how risk perception differs between banks and potential buyers of bad loans. "The key point is still the gap between bid and ask [price]," he commented. His view that a valuation gap emerges when banks and funds interests are misaligned on the pricing of underperforming credits was a common theme from the panel discussion on the challenges of NPL investing.
