APAC Chart of the Week, 7 March 2019
UBS topped the APAC (ex-Japan) USD high-yield-bond bookrunner league table in 2M19 with a 9.93% market share, clocking USD 2.32bn by value across 19 deals.
Credit Suisse was in the second place with a 9.49% share - USD 2.22bn via 20 deals. Both co-led China Evergrande Group’s mammoth three-tranche USD 3bn reopening in January, the largest deal so far this quarter.
Coming in third was HSBC with an 8.9% market share, recording a volume of USD 2.09bn. The bank led the most number of deals in 2M19 with 30 offerings.
APAC (ex-Japan) USD high-yield bond volumes for the first two months of 2019 have already surpassed 1Q18’s volume by 5.1%, registering USD 25.65bn across 67 deals, compared with USD 24.41bn over 76 deals in 1Q18.
